A unique marathon adventure in Bhutan for active boomers

COMO Hotels and Resorts has created a 9-night itinerary to mark the launch of the first Bhutan International Marathon and Half Marathon. For this special event, the luxury hotelier is offering marathon participants a relaxing and inspiring retreat at two of its spectacular sister properties before and after the race.

The Uma Adventure at Uma Paro and Uma Punakha in Bhutan is scheduled for February 19-28 (wrapped around the February 23 inaugural race).

It includes five nights at Uma by COMO, Paro and four nights at Uma by COMO, Punakha as well as a packed schedule featuring:

  • sightseeing opportunities and scenic tours of local markets and monasteries
  • scenic training sessions
  • specially designed COMO Shambhala massages
  • daily yoga, and
  • nutritionist-designed menus

The marathon course will meander through rural countryside and villages before finishing at historic Punakha Dzong. Along the way, participants will be able to experience the geographical and cultural wonders of a country that has special appeals for adventurers and spiritual seekers.

Prices for the Uma Adventure itinerary start at $9,968 for two people sharing and $7,642 for single occupancy. Marathon registration fees per person are $150 (full marathon) and $110 (half marathon).

Deadline for registration is January 15th, 2014 and space for this special itinerary are limited.
