The Edmonton Folk Festival is free for seniors 65 and over

If you’re over the age of 65 and want to take a last-minute summer getaway, you may want to take advantage of the special seniors-only offer at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival.

Not surprisingly—with star performers like Bonnie Raitt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, David Bromberg, and Emmylou Harris on the program this year—tickets for the festival sold out in less than two hours. But the doors are still open for seniors, over the age of 65, who will be admitted free, anytime. (A four-day festival pass ordinarily sells for $149 per person.)

The festival runs from August 9-12, 2012.  Since the early 90s, the popular four-day folk festival has been held in Gallagher Park in downtown Edmonton, where there were more than 80,000 attendees last year.
