If you still haven’t decided on a last-minute New Year’s Eve getaway, the Harbor View Hotel and the Kelley House Inn, two of Martha’s Vineyard’s most historic hotels, still have celebratory New Year’s Eve packages available for procrastinators.
On Dec. 31 the Harbor View Hotel will raise a glass and welcome the New Year to Martha’s Vineyard with a sparkling New Year’s Eve party. Featuring live music by Sultans of Swing and the tunes of DJ Warren Cheng, the evening will include light hors d’oeuvres by Water Street’s Executive Chef Shaun Brian Sells, who was recently named one of the “Boston area’s brightest food stars” by Zagat. An array of edible delights will include Dirty Martini Oyster Shooters, Mini Yukon Potatoes with Truffle Crema & Caviar, Duck Confit Spring Rolls with Thai Chili Sauce, and Braised Pork Sliders on Brioche. As the final hour of 2012 draws near, revelers will gather outside to witness Harbor View’s festive fireworks display and join in a champagne toast.
Doors open at 8:30 p.m., with festivities from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The Harbor View Hotel New Year’s Eve Party is open to adults (21+), and tickets are $75 per person. Wine, cocktails and beer will be available for purchase and semi-formal attire is required. Tickets sales will be announced on the hotel’s Facebook page. Attendees can share their favorite moments and musings throughout the event using the Twitter hashtag #HarborViewNYE.
For those who wish to continue their celebration well into New Year’s Day, Harbor View Hotel and nearby Kelley House are offering two special overnight packages. Starting at $289 for Kelley House accommodations and $309 at Harbor View, including taxes and gratuity, guests can enjoy an overnight stay on Dec. 31, two tickets to the New Year’s Eve Party and a late checkout of 2 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2013.
On New Year’s Day, Harbor View will be serving its award-winning brunch in Water Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., boasting omelet and waffle stations, cold and hot selections, a local oyster raw bar and desserts. Brunch is $38 per person and will also include live jazz by Eric Johnson and Jeremy Berlin.
