Homewood Suites by Hilton has launched an innovative, first-of-its-kind Home Cooked Meals partnership with PeachDish.

Extended stay hotels can be lifesavers for people who need to be away from home for more than a few days at a time. Who often makes use of these properties?

  • People moving out of one home who find out that the one they’re moving into isn’t quite ready, or
  • People traveling for business who want to bring along family or friends, or
  • People who have to be away from home for more than a few days, want more than a hotel room, and don’t want to incur the cost and inconvenience of going out for every meal.

The 350 Homewood Suites by Hilton across the U.S. offer an affordable and relaxed extended stay option for these and other business/leisure travelers. Spacious studios and one- and two-bedroom suites at Homewood Suite properties offer separate living and sleeping areas, and fully equipped kitchens with full-size refrigerators. Stays include complimentary perks including free Internet, a full hot breakfast, evening socials from Mondays thru Thursdays, and other amenities designed to make guests feel like they are truly at home.

However, the brand is adding a new feature: In partnership with PeachDish, one of the growing number of meal delivery services sprouting up across the country, Homewood Suites is initiating a “Home Cooked Meals” program at two of its properties in Atlanta and Dallas for three months between March 7 and June 9, 2016. These meal “kits” will be available to guests at discounts of 20 percent and more.

The intent is to offer travelers a healthy, nutritious, pre-portioned, easy-to-cook meal option without the hassle of having to shop for ingredients or purchase more food than needed. (Homewood Suites already offers a complimentary grocery delivery service.)

“Focused on delivering fresh, seasonal ingredients, our classically trained chefs develop Southern-infused recipes that are quick and easy to prepare,” said Judith Winfrey, president, PeachDish. “We source ingredients regionally and seasonally while highlighting a variety of international flavors.”

Guests will be able to select from at least four PeachDish menu options each week, and place their orders by midnight on Sunday EST for delivery during the upcoming week. They will be able to order meals for one or more. In addition to the meal kit discount, guests will receive promotional pricing on a PeachDish Starter Kit, which includes extra virgin olive oil, kosher sea salt and fresh whole black pepper with a complimentary pepper mill.

The travel industry newsletter Skift recently noted that research from food-industry consulting firm Technomic has identified more than 170 players in the highly competitive global meal-kit delivery space.

Perhaps the sweetest part of this new Homewood Suites deal—If guests are too lazy or tired to load and run the dishwasher, they are encouraged to leave the dirty pots and dishes pots in the sink for the housekeeper.
