It’s not a big surprise to me. For 2013, Crystal Cruises was again voted as having the world’s best service in the large ship category for the second year in a row. The annual award is based on ratings given by the readers of Travel & Leisure Magazine.
When we sailed on the Crystal Symphony, I lauded the line for its service as well. In my ship review published here and on The Huffington Post, I wrote:
The very professional crew who not only responded to requests but also anticipated them best distinguished our cruise on the Crystal Symphony. From the time we boarded, everyone seemed to know our name and went out of their way to make our stay on board a memorable experience. Our waiter remembered that my husband liked still water and that my preference was sparkling. Yet, on the last day of the voyage, staff was discretely busy, with no outstretched hands saying goodbye. Instead, we discreetly said our thank you’s in an envelope we left in the cabin for service that went above and beyond.
For a memorable vacation or special occasion with outstanding service, Crystal should definitely be on your list. I still dream about our cabin concierge, Igor. The other four lines that made the list, in order, include: Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Azamara Cruises, Disney Cruise Line and Oceania Cruises.
